After struggling for years to find a reliable source of good-quality T-grips, we have decided that most of the plastic ones are a bit rubbish. So we are now making our own.
These are made of locally sourced oak, covered in glass and an abrasion resistant Dynel sleeve to stand up to years of abuse. The handle is attached with a wedged joint to make sure that nothing comes loose halfway down the river. The shaft piece is also machined oak, available in diameters of;
- 25.4mm (1 inch) that will fit most of the standard paddle shafts out there
- 27mm (1.0625 inch) to fit Werner Bandit shafts
- 28.6mm (1.125 inch) to fit our aluminium guidestick shafts
Other diameters are available as a special order.
These are now supplied as standard on our guidesticks and paddles. We also have some old reclaimed plastic grips if you really want one - make us an offer and we probably won't say no!
